Twelve places to stay, from palazzi in the Kalsa and the old town markets to the grand hotels of Via Roma and Politeama, the Acquasanta waterfront and Mondello beach, shortlisted from what guests say across the main review platforms. Compare hotels, contact them directly and book on their official websites.
Palermo rewards a base you can walk from. The Kalsa, the old Arab quarter by the sea, mixes restored palazzi, street art and quiet squares a few minutes from Piazza Marina and the Foro Italico. Around the Quattro Canti and along Via Vittorio Emanuele and Via Maqueda you sleep between the Cathedral, the Ballarò and Capo markets and the Norman monuments of the Arab-Norman UNESCO route. North of the Teatro Massimo, Via Roma and the Politeama district have wider streets, Liberty architecture and the city’s best-known grand hotel, handy for shopping and evenings at the theatres. Further out, the Acquasanta waterfront and the beach of Mondello, at the foot of Monte Gallo, suit slower summer stays. Holiplanet shortlisted these twelve hotels in October 2026 by analysing guest reviews across the main online platforms, then checked each official website and contact on 30 October 2026. The order is an editorial selection, not a ranking, and no hotel is sponsored.
