Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") apply to holiplanet.com and to every service, page, form and email of Holiplanet (together, the "Services"). By using the Services or sending a request through one of our forms, you agree to these Terms. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

Holiplanet is an international travel media and booking network: travel guides, the Holiplanet Journal, a directory of hotels, restaurants and local businesses, and tools that let travellers contact them directly. In these Terms, "Holiplanet", "we" and "us" mean the operator of holiplanet.com. You can reach us at bookings@holiplanet.com.

2. Our Services

  • Content. City guides, articles, maps and practical information for travellers and people moving abroad.
  • Directory. Pages presenting hotels, restaurants and other businesses ("Partners").
  • Holiplanet Revolution. A direct booking request service: you send a request to a hotel, the hotel replies with its own offer, and you deal with the hotel directly.
  • Holiplanet Bookings. Table and service requests sent to restaurants and other Partners.
  • Products for businesses. Paid listings, featured placements and other digital products sold through our store.

Using the content and sending requests is free for travellers.

3. Booking requests: Holiplanet is not a party to the booking

When you send a request through Holiplanet Revolution or Holiplanet Bookings:

  • We pass your request to the Partner you chose. A request is not a booking and does not guarantee availability.
  • Prices shown on our pages before the Partner replies are indicative. The final price, what is included, payment terms and cancellation terms are set by the Partner in its offer.
  • If you accept a Partner's offer, the resulting pre-booking and any booking contract are between you and the Partner only. Holiplanet is not a party to that contract, is not a travel agent or tour operator, and does not act on behalf of either party.
  • Holiplanet never receives, holds or processes your payments, charges you no fee and receives no commission on Revolution bookings. You pay the Partner directly, following its instructions.
  • Changes, cancellations, refunds, the quality of the stay or service and any claim about them are handled by the Partner, under its own terms.
  • Your email address and phone number are shared with the Partner only once you accept its offer. Before that, the Partner sees your name, country, dates and your message.
  • Offers have a time limit set by the Partner. If you do not accept in time, the offer expires and the room or service is no longer held for you.

You agree to give accurate information, to send only genuine requests, and not to send requests on behalf of others without their permission.

4. Partners

Partners listed on Holiplanet are responsible for the accuracy of their information, prices and availability, for honouring the offers they send, and for complying with the laws that apply to their business, including tourism, tax, consumer and data protection rules. Partners agree to use the contact details of travellers received through Holiplanet only to handle the request and the resulting stay or service. Specific conditions for Partners may be agreed in writing and apply in addition to these Terms.

5. Purchases from Holiplanet

Products sold in our store (such as listings, featured placements and digital products) are described on their product pages. Prices, what is included, duration, delivery and refund conditions are those shown on the product page and at checkout. Payments for these products are processed by Shopify and its payment partners. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

6. Using the Services

You agree not to misuse the Services, in particular not to: send false, abusive or automated requests; attempt to access data or systems you are not authorised to access; copy or scrape our content or Partner data in bulk; use the Services for unlawful purposes. We may limit or block requests that look abusive, for example too many requests in a short time.

7. Content and intellectual property

Texts, guides, photos, maps, design and the Holiplanet name and logo are owned by Holiplanet or used under licence. You may read and share links to our pages for personal use. Any other use, including reproduction or commercial use, requires our written permission. Partner names, logos and photos belong to their owners.

8. Third-party information and links

We do our best to keep our information accurate and up to date, but practical information (opening hours, prices, rules, availability) can change without notice and should be checked with the business concerned. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content or practices.

9. Liability

The Services are provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, Holiplanet is not liable for: the acts, omissions, offers, services or stays of Partners; the outcome of any request or booking; losses caused by information provided by Partners or third parties; or temporary unavailability of the Services. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

10. Privacy

We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. Data from booking requests is used only to handle the request and is deleted after 180 days, unless you chose to receive our offers.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on this page, with its "Last updated" date, applies from that date. Requests already sent remain subject to the Terms in force when they were sent.
