The Roma Jazz Festival 2026 runs from 1 to 24 November across two venues: the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone in the north of the city and the Casa del Jazz near the Aventine. This 50th edition has 18 concerts in Rome and is dedicated to Miles Davis, a hundred years after his birth.
You need a ticket for every concert. Seats are sold on TicketOne, the festival's official box office, with prices from €12 for the Sunday morning children's show to €40 for the biggest names, plus service fees. Prices and availability below were checked on 3 November 2026.
What is the Roma Jazz Festival?
The festival began in 1976 under the Quercia del Tasso on the Gianicolo hill, and it is now one of the fixtures of the Roman autumn. It is produced by the IMF Foundation with Fondazione Musica per Roma, which runs the Auditorium, and the artistic director is Mario Ciampà.
The 2026 title is "Rileggere Miles, ripensare il jazz", roughly "rereading Miles, rethinking jazz". Jason Miles, Paolo Fresu, Gregory Hutchinson, Jeremy Pelt and Erik Truffaz each bring their own reading of Davis's music, alongside Italian and international groups.
Roma Jazz Festival 2026 programme
Paolo Fresu opened the festival on Sunday 1 November in Sala Sinopoli. The rest of the programme is still ahead, and most concerts start at 7.30 pm or 8 pm.
First week: the big international names
Wednesday 4 November, 8 pm: Kurt Elling and the Yellowjackets play "Celebrate Weather Report" in Sala Petrassi, from €40. TicketOne lists it as a high-demand show, and on 3 November only stalls seats were still on sale.
Thursday 5 November, 8 pm: Steve Coleman and Five Elements, Sala Petrassi, from €35. Friday 6 November, 8 pm: Hamilton de Holanda and Gonzalo Rubalcaba in "Collab", Sala Petrassi, from €35.
Weekends at the Casa del Jazz
The smaller Sala Trovajoli at the Casa del Jazz hosts the Italian groups, all from €20. Zoe Pia's Eden Inverted Collective plays "Atlantidei" on Saturday 7 November at 7.30 pm, and the Domenico Rizzuto Trio plays on Sunday 8 November at 6 pm.
The following weekend brings the Eleonora Strino Trio with "Lumithia" on Friday 13 November and the Nexus Quartet on Saturday 14 November, both at 7.30 pm.
The Miles Davis week
From 16 to 24 November the programme returns to the Auditorium and to the Davis theme.
Enzo Favata's "Atlantico Reunion" plays on Monday 16 November (from €25), Erik Truffaz and Antonio Lizana's "New Sketches of Spain" on Tuesday 17 (from €35) and Gregory Hutchinson's "Kind of Now – The Pulse of Miles Davis" on Wednesday 18 (from €30), all at 8 pm in Sala Petrassi.
On Thursday 19 November the Casa del Jazz Orchestra plays "Tenor Madness" in Sala Petrassi, and the festival programme also lists Omasta on Friday 20 November at 9 pm. The Jeremy Pelt Quintet follows on Saturday 21 November at 8 pm in the Teatro Studio Borgna, from €30.
The closing nights move to the Teatro Studio Borgna: Rosa Brunello's "We Are Surging Waters" on Sunday 22 November at 6 pm and Chiara Civello with Clap! Clap! on Monday 23 at 8 pm, both from €30.
Jason Miles closes the festival with "100 Miles for Miles Davis" on Tuesday 24 November at 8 pm, from €35.
Jazz for children
On Sunday 22 November at 11 am, "Fiabe Jazz – I Musicanti di Brema Swing Band" turns the Bremen Town Musicians into a swing show for children in the Teatro Studio Borgna, from €12.

Tickets: prices, fees and entry rules
TicketOne prices are shown "from" a figure that already includes the organiser's presale charge. Service fees are added at checkout and are not refundable even if a concert is cancelled. Tickets are eTickets with a QR code, so save them on your phone before you leave.
You can also buy at the Auditorium box office, open every day from 11 am to 8 pm, from 10 am on Sundays, and until 9.30 pm on concert nights.
Arrive on time: at the Auditorium you can enter the hall from 30 minutes until 5 minutes before the start. Once the concert has begun the rules do not allow entry, and if the organiser makes an exception you may be seated somewhere other than your ticketed seat.
How to get to the venues
Auditorium Parco della Musica
The Auditorium is at Viale Pietro de Coubertin 30, in the Flaminio district north of the historic centre. The simplest route is Metro A to Flaminio, then tram 2 from Piazzale Flaminio towards Piazza Mancini, or the Roma-Nord railway to Piazza Euclide.
Bus 910 runs from Termini station, and buses 53, 982 and 168 also stop nearby. If you drive, the Auditorium has two metered car parks.
Casa del Jazz
The Casa del Jazz is at Viale di Porta Ardeatina 55, inside Villa Osio, a 1930s villa in a park of about two and a half hectares. Take Metro B to Piramide, or bus 714, which runs about every six minutes, to the Colombo/Marco Polo stop. There is a car park beside the villa at the corner of Via Cristoforo Colombo.
The villa has its own story. It was confiscated in 2001 from Enrico Nicoletti, linked to the Banda della Magliana gang, and reopened by the City of Rome as a jazz house in 2005. A plaque at the entrance lists 683 victims of the mafia.
Where to stay for the festival
Choose your base by venue. For concerts at the Auditorium, stay near Piazza del Popolo, in Flaminio or in Prati, so that tram 2 from Piazzale Flaminio gets you there and back without changes.
For the Casa del Jazz, Testaccio and the Aventine are close to Piramide and make an easy evening on foot or by Metro B.
Our selection of top hotels in Rome lists well-rated places to stay across the centre, and the Rome City Guide covers neighbourhoods, transport from the airports and what to see by day.
If you have three days around a concert, our Rome itinerary for 3 days fits the main sights into the daytime. November also brings Novembre Nordico, with Nordic art, music and film events across the city until 13 December, and a new exhibition of Fayum portraits at the Museo dell'Ara Pacis from 5 November.
What the festival means for hosts and local businesses
The festival spreads 18 concerts over 24 days, with most shows on weekday evenings rather than one peak weekend, in two districts outside the usual tourist core.
Help guests plan the evening
Concert guests need two things from a host: how to reach the venue and how to get back. A short note with the tram 2 route to the Auditorium, or Metro B to Piramide for the Casa del Jazz, saves questions at check-in.
Remind guests that the Auditorium does not admit latecomers once a concert has started. A guest who checks in at 7 pm for an 8 pm show at Sala Petrassi needs to leave almost at once, so late-afternoon check-in and luggage storage are worth offering on concert days.
Dinner after the show
With start times between 6 pm and 9 pm, most audiences look for dinner either before 7 pm or after about 10 pm. Restaurants in Flaminio, Prati, Testaccio and around the Aventine can take advantage by keeping the kitchen open late on concert nights and saying so clearly online.
Tourist tax and the rules
Every overnight stay in Rome carries the contributo di soggiorno, charged per person per night at rates that vary by type and category of accommodation. The current rates were set by Giunta Capitolina resolution 255 of 17 July 2023 and apply to stays from 1 October 2023.
This is general information, not legal or tax advice: check the City of Rome's official pages before acting. For people who come back for longer, our page on living in Rome covers neighbourhoods, costs and daily life.
